My name is Rachel Osborn. I fell in love with colorguard when I was twelve and have been spinning ever since. Something inside me comes alive when I'm performing, and I am lucky to have found a passion so early in life. Last year was my first year with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Despite my short time with the corps, they truly are like a second family to me.  Not only did I love the colorguard, but the entire corps was so welcoming and friendly. My high school music program's motto was "never settle for your present level of achievement." This was what I was always taught, and The Cadets embody that work ethic precisely. To be able to spend my summer with this organization was a true blessing that I am extremely grateful for.

Drum Corps International is known throughout the world as a powerful, global, youth organizational influence. This activity advocates the wonderful message of "excellence in performing and in life." I learn so much through performance, not just in the activity, but important life skills as well. Drum corps has taught me discipline, determination, time management, respect, responsibility, and especially commitment. The Cadets are a part of Youth Education in the Arts! which provides an opportunity for thousands of youths to work to perfect their performance talents. We perform for over 400,000 fans and inspire younger individuals to pursue their performance talents. We travel all around the country, entertaining large crowds and practicing our show to near perfection over the course of three months.

Unfortunately participation in this organization can cost upwards of $3,000 dollars due to travel, housing, food, and more. This is an extreme cost that I
cannot afford to pay on my own. Anything you can afford to give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for supporting my dream!

My Story

I know the price of success: dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.
